Flowers galore with kindergarteners! Garden Pollack artists!

Seeds of Change gave us 100 seed packets for free this year (contact them if you are a non-profit organization). It’s kind of a grab bag assortment of vegetables, herbs, and exotic flowers. Today we had students plant many of these flowers. It’s just starting to dry up around here for a minute after a soggy soggy spring. They enjoyed this “open” seed-fest, where they got to keep coming back to plant more and more seeds around the garden. We also got to discuss the benefits of attracting butterflies, bees, hummingbirds, and beneficial insects.

This activity was like a giant canvas being painted by students- a living garden full of colors painted by students- fresh!
