Maidi’s amazing worm experiments

Today I went into Maidi’s class to talk about the difference between red wiggler worms and earthworms. While our garden has tons of earthworms in it, the only red wigglers are in our worm bins that munch Orca lunch leftovers. Then we listened to a CD by a local band- Thadillac and their amazing song- Worm. It’s a rip roaring funk song showing the part a worm plays in our natural environment. Worms & Funk= heart heart.

Maidi has 4 worm bins and is doing a controlled experiment. Bin #1- Fruits. Bin #2- Veggies. Bin #3- Coffee Grounds. Bin #4- Everything. The class wanted to see if the worms seemed to thrive with one type of food over another. Just wait for the ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE NIGHT on November 17th to find out!
