Making a deposit at the food bank

Teamwork!

Teamwork!

Today we collected two big bags of produce for our buddies at Rainier Valley Food Bank. There were 3 different kinds of kale, collard greens, many lettuces, and some rainbow chard. The garden is looking good, so the donations will keep coming strong.

Summer Madness 2013

Artichoke Flower Fascination

Artichoke Flower Fascination

The garden is looking super green, alive, and especially fruitful here in the awesome heat of July. We have two 2-week garden camps coming up in a month, so the lucky First Base daycare at Orca gets some serious “solo” enjoyment out of all the raspberries, flowers, and other goodies. We are lucky ourselves to have a whole summer of parent & family help watering the garden- so there’s no doubt that come September, we will have a ton of food to eat w/ students. Plus I will be there most Wednesdays to harvest donations for the food bank. Thanks everybody!
