It’s a celebration!


It was a rip roaring week of intense sun, random hose cool downs, straw mulching, and even some planting.

We mulched baby onions w/ straw to save them from this amazing heat. Helping out, was our UW volunteer Jamee from the fabulous Pipeline program that connects college students w/ volunteering in local organizations doing sustainability work. She got right down in it.

So yes we had to cool down and this is how we do it. Make it rain!

And w/ the kindergarteners, we opened a coconut that a student’s parent mailed from the US Virgin Islands?!? It’s not quite so easy, but we eventually cracked it and celebrated a little.
